VETERANS MEMORIAL WALLS
The central feature of the new garden at the revitalized Memorial Centre, the Veterans Memorial Walls display the names of 1,022 Kingstonians killed in military action.
The Indiana Limestone walls are accented by a black granite plinthe, and coping stones. The names are etched into black granite panels, and an excerpt from 'In Flanders Field' is etched into the north face of the wall.
The project was a collaborative effort between the City of Kingston and the military community who worked together for several years to compile a list of names. The gardens were designed by GE O'Connor Consulting, and built by Edgewater Stonemasons, in collaboration with Len Corcoran Excavating and Campbell Monument.
